Ship loading installation

This installation is designed to load ships with soda and salt at a rate of respectively 350 and 700 tons per hour, with minimal dust emission.

Flexibility

A high level of in-built mobility is essential, as moving the loader up and down the quay was not an option. The unit’s rotation radius is 225° to load both ships and lorries. In order to get above the vessel, a 25° vertical lift is possible. To enhance the reach, the telescopic arm can be extended 8,5 m. The loading tube has a vertical rotation radius of 3 m and can be hydraulically manipulated to achieve a forward and backward movement of 15°.

Large shop-built construction

Most of the unit is constructed of AISI 316-quality stainless steel. To minimize on-site work, the loader was almost completely finished in Geldof Metaalconstructies’ workshops where all mechanical parts were assembled and connected electrically and fully tested and tuned.
