Harelbeke, 21 November 2008. Rudy Platteau has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer at Geldof Metaalconstructie nv in Harelbeke. Platteau brings leadership and experience to the Board of Directors with a view to realising Geldof’s future ambitions. The appointment of the new CEO puts the finishing touch to the extensive renewal process within the West Flemish metal construction company.
In recent years, Geldof has developed into a worldwide player in the field of metal constructions such as storage tanks, pressure vessels and devices for the handling of dry bulk goods. Various important international companies can be found on the company’s list of references. Managing Director, Marc Meurisse, explains the reason for this success as “the result of know-how, professionalism and the strong motivation of all Geldof’s staff”.
The world player from Harelbeke wants to continue to grow. For this reason, Geldof has reformulated its ambitions for the future: the aim is to change the company from a medium-sized enterprise into a large-sized one. For Meurisse, the arrival of Rudy Platteau as the new CEO is therefore a logical step to ensure that this growth takes place.

How does he see his new position? “I intend to implement the company’s new future strategy in all its aspects. We must continue to grow together with our customers.
